Its been a while since I have posted and due to the amount of holidays that have passed since I last posted you think I would have a ton to write about. Well... I don't. So there.
Ok Ill post something. So I have my water bed. You that come here often should know that. Whats the worst nightmare of anyone that has a water bed and lives on the second floor of an apartment building? Yup you guessed it, waking up and feeling water. So picture this, its three in the morning and I wake up to my feet feeling something wet. My first though in my still mostly asleep mind... "huh thats not right". My foot starts feeling around to make sure I am not just dreaming this all up. Then the brain wakes up enough to put the wet feeling with the fact that you are sleeping on a giant sack of water. BAM a split second later I am out of bed ripping the sheets off the bed trying to find where the hole is. The sheets are drenched the nice new carpet is all soaked and my brain starts racking up what this is going to cost me. Ok well that last part didn't really happen, it just turned out to be a small hole where the water goes into the bed. The seem was a little stressed when I filled it up last and I was hoping it was going to last but I was wrong. After trying a patch kit on it to no success I am now getting another bag for my bed.
As for new years, well I ended up going snowboarding for all three days of the three day weekend. The snow on the last day was awesome and I found out the arch on my left foot is much worse than my right. I now know this because my left hurts MUCH more than my right... which made me look and compare and then I noticed. Odd.
Christmas was spent in Kamloops. I got the rest of the appliances I needed for my kitchen plus two coffee makers! And I have been on a constant caffeine high ever since. My parents ended up going to Washington for Christmas with the rest of the family so I spent the morning with my sister and her family... then I went back to bed. Mmmm sleep.
What happens when you get an old computer chair and a Dave with Duct Tape? A fixed computer chair... Ill post some pics of it later. ;)
Posted by Korvon at January 3, 2006 09:06 PMYou may want to inquire what affect, if any, having a waterbed has on your apartment insurance or even if they are allowed in your building. As I recall, many places don't let you have them for that reason.
As for your left foot/right foot thing, I can't remember if you are right handed or not, but that is probably the reason for the difference.
What other appliances did you get? Two coffee makers? Ah, a true geek addicted to caffeine...'We have to have N+1 coffee makers for redundancy, it is part of our disaster recovery plan.' Knowing the amount of coffee Gene drinks, I think that would be a viable argument for Dryden.
Frankenchair!!!! Goes well with Frankenputer... ![]()
Duct tape?? A chair??? Won't that be...stickey?
The sticky side goes down...
Dave, sounds like you might need to adjust the angle that your left snowboard binding is at. Try another setting that feels more natural and you'll be less likely to have sore feets.
I've seen the feet first hand, his arches are ridiculously high. I'm going to look into getting his boots punched out if they do that for snowboard boots. i know they do it for skiis
