Tape Man Strikes Back.

Well its that time of year again where all the little kids run to the hardware store in search of just the right roll of Duct Tape. Where no cardboard bin is safe from the eager teens and their crazy cardboard armor. Then there is that creepy 27 year old out-doing them all! Last weekend I let me geeky side shine though yet again and spent way to long building something that is really quite pointless. Its was fun none the less.

In case you didn't catch my creation last year go here and check it out.

This year we spent a lot longer on it and made a much better suite of armor... with a slight Lord Of The Rings feel to it.
We decided on Elven armor cause it looked good and could still be done with the materials we had available.

I started off with the shield since it looked like it would be easiest to do.

Lish then decorated it with different colors of duct tape and this is what we ended up with.

Then we set about making the armor, it had a really cool lacing effect to it and it turned out pretty good. Here is the rough design...

Then I got bored with the armor and decided to make Gandalf's staff out of white duct tape and cardboard... the cat wanted to help too. :P

Then it was the helm... was by far the hardest to do but turned out pretty good I think.

I also had to add a handle on the back of the shield so she could hold onto it...

Here is one a set of twins did at the youth... kind of reminds me of Monty Python.

The armor from last year even made an appearance... apparently its a one size fits all.

We were there, it was cardboard and duct tape flying everywhere! But fun was had by all.

What if that mind were put to use to benefit all of mankind instead of just on one duct tape night. you could assimilate us all.

Very creative. White duct tape, eh? Perhaps next year some white ballistic armor could be made...

We did consider making a stormtrooper outfit. But Lord of the Rings won.
