The week ends and another Saga ends.
Yes the saga of the Dell. I know, when you think of it brings up a lot of emotions… anger, sadness, fear, eagerness, despair, and yes even a little apprehensive but that?s ok because last night I brought it all to an end. That?s right I did what four computer techs from India and one from Toronto could not do… I fixed my DELL!!!
Incase you haven?t been following this my computer (a dell laptop) has pretty much sucked for the past few months on just about any game I could play. I would play the game but it would be very choppy and in most cases hardly playable. I had taken this to dell and they took me through their step-by-step process and even to the point of replacing every part on my laptop accept the hard drive. Finally they said ship it to Toronto and have a tech there look at it and see what they can do. They couldn?t fix it.
So last night I did a bit of research and found out that there was a few updates to the download section of one was a file called “BIOS CPU Speed Patch”, and a [get this] 47MB chipset driver). Now what can be contained in a 47MB driver that most other companies in the world can do in 2-3MB I don?t know but whatever. I installed these files and my computer is running like a charm. OH BABY!! Sorry it?s just been so long, it?s quite a relief.

The week continues… but in a good way
know Lish (Alisha) has had a tumor on her leg for the past 2 years. Its been growing on her leg bone and has kept her in pretty much constant pain for that time. She had the same thing six years earlier and had it operated on by basically cutting her leg open and digging out the bad stuff (leaving a pretty sweet scar). However it came back and took the doctors quite some time to find it. One good thing she found out that there was a new procedure on removing this unwanted addition to her leg. It?s where they insert a small probe into her leg and burn out the tumor with radiation or a laser or something like that. So she finally got a date to get this done after a year and a half of waiting. Unfortunately the probes didn?t work on her (she was only one of two people in North America that it didn?t work on) and she was left in the same boat and back on the waiting list.
This time the doctors used some more “expensive” probes and she went back to surgery last Wednesday… and this time… drum roll….. IT WORKED!!! Its now 5 days later and she hasn?t needed any painkillers yet. Which is quite a change from how many ibuprofen she was taking before it happened. She had a whole bunch of us praying for her when she went down and I truly believe that God was with her on this one.

Oh what a week (part 1)
Well let?s start with last Sunday shall we? Last Sunday was a great day, why you ask? Its because I went rock climbing in the great out doors. There is a place about 20 min out of Kamloops where out in the middle of nowhere is an 80 food rock face with some really good climbs. There are about a dozen routes on the face ranging from a 5.7 all the way to 5.13 (than means from pretty easy so near impossible) My best climb of the day was one that was rated about a 5.11a. I ended up going with the UCC climbing club, which I am aloud to join because they can have up to 25% non-UCC students in the club. I went with Lish and a bunch of people that I had not met before and I have to admit Lish did pretty good… I was impressed. Needless to say I had a good day.

Lost Boy looking for Never Never Land.
Well here I am in Kamloops… in an empty house… while my family (my whole family) is in Disneyland. Yes thats right they left me for a much better place apparently full of “magic”. If I see one kid with the mickey ears on I am going to tell him that Donald blew mickey away with a 12 gauge. The police later tired to get a confession out of Donald but just could not understand a word he said. So I am not bitter or anything… really, I’m not.
I couldn’t go because I didn’t have the money or the time off work to take 2 weeks off to go. So I hope they all are having fun, and I hope that the chock line of the mouse at the front gate doesn’t ruin their weekend. GO DONALD!!!
