Some quotes.

These are some quotes from a man called Albert Einstein:

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

“Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.”

“Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.”

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the the universe.”

Just thought they were pretty good.

If you ever Played a computer game… read this.

I usually don’t read many articles online but this guy has put out a few of them and they are quite good. He is addressing some of the issues that don’t seem to get solved from one console generation to the next.

Some clips from the article.

“…we’re going to wish we could reclaim the time we spent wandering around for save points long after we were done playing every night. Imagine if your word processing program did this, refusing to let you save your progress until you typed six more paragraphs. Or, made you retype your last paragraph six times while zombies tried to shoot your cursor… ”

“I suppose that’s what it will take, somebody making a click-and-play game and gamers buying it in droves. And as soon as that game goes on sale I’m gonna borrow a copy of that b***h from somebody.”

“…don’t have me toting around 500 pounds of high explosives, 2 different kinds of missile launchers and a nuclear fusion cannon and still make almost every pane of glass I come across totally unbreakable. It was cute that I could shoot Coke cans off the tables in Doom III. But then I shoot the magazine sitting next to it and it doesn’t even show scuff marks.”

Trying a new look…

I am working on the layout of the site… the old one was just getting… well old. As for the colors, I’m a guy and colors just really are not my thing… so if any of you have suggestions as to what I should use let me know.

Straley is takin back the Weekend!

That?s right my days of having split days off are soon coming to an end. I have just been informed that spitfire computers will now be closed Saturdays from now on and the hours during the week will be extended. We used to be open from 9:30 to 5:30 Monday to Friday, however now we will be open 8 am to 6 pm. This doesn?t really affect me since I will be working the 10 to 6 part of the day, so I get to sleep in a half-hour more. :D

I am also in the process of learning Linux and should be pretty efficient at it in the near future. I purchased a massive book explaining how to do just about everything in Linux and am going through that page by tedious page. I am also running Fedora core on my system at home now and will try to make it my sole OS for the next while in order to make me learn it faster. My next endeavor is to setup a fedora server for my home network and get the windows and Linux systems to talk. Should be fun… but will most likely have me pulling my hair out before it?s done. Oh but I did get an msn clone working in Linux so I will still be able to talk with you all… next I got to see if I can get my webcam to work in it as well.
