So… Febuary eh?

What can I say… it’s February… its a slow month all around and there just isn’t much to write about. I am currently addicted to a game called Sudoku actually two words Su Doku. Its a game where you have a square 9X9 which is filled with 9 3×3 squares and you have to get the numbers 1-9 in every box and every row. Its a mind game and I likes them my precious, yes, yes. *cough* Errr ummm sorry gollum tends to sneak out every once in a while…

Other than that I hear the Olympics are on… in Italy… I think I have watched maybe 30 min of the games so far. It just didn’t really top my interest list this year, probably because I never watch TV anymore. That might also have something to do with me not actually having a TV in my house. :P

Had my first Union meeting a few days ago… odd experience to say the least. Its a wonder anything ever gets done in a democracy… it has to be the slowest form of government possible. It does have the most checks and balances so that no one person gets to much power but man… takes so long. Well I cant really go into what was said since I would have to silence anyone who reads this blog. All I can say is that its not looking so good.

Time to start saving money.

Other than that, my life has been pretty slow lately. Ill post later if something of importance happens… or I just feel like talking. Whatever comes first.

A First Time For Everything Eh?

I figured I would die before this would happen to me. I had a dentist appointment today, because well… I have more unnatural parts to my teeth than I do natural. I have been to several a dentist in my day and every time I have been to one there has always been more to do. Over the past decade my medical coverage has been spotty at best, so when I do have coverage I go in and get at ton done… and I mean a ton. My personal best was getting 4 fillings in one sitting… that was not a fun day. So now that I work for interior health my dental coverage kicked in on the 1st of this month so I booked an appointment and prepared myself for the worst. It had been about 2 years since I had been in that all to familiar chair and was expecting to be there for a while… with many subsequent visits. After about 5 min of poking around my mouth, looking for holes I guess, he said that was it and I could go.

“What the deuce!” I exclaimed.

Apparently I have nothing that really need fixing… and I was free to go home. The only thing I needed to do was schedule a time for a cleaning… thats it. I’m still in shock I think.

Other than that my second week of working alone is going much better. I am semi keeping up with the calls coming in and things are going pretty well.

For now the only thing for me to do is make some dinner, play a game or two and maybe clean some. Yes mom I do clean. :P

Sorry to all my non geek readers…..

But I have a geek subject that I have to get off my chest. My beef today is with Intel. Yes, Intel the blue guys doing the music, dum dum dum, Intel inside, holds 70% of the processor market…. you know … Intel Intel at the beginning of the month released its new processor called the “Duo” for the dual core version and the “solo” for the single core version.

** geek talk might want to skip this paragraph **

This is Intel’s first processor using the new 65nm technology which finally enabled them to get their Watts back down to a normal level. Until now AMD had just been killing them at this point, among others, I’ll get to that later. However at the same time they also went to a new chip design at the same time they went to a new fab. process. Now I have heard it stated many times by Intel, AMD, and several other company engineers that doing either of those at separate times can be sketchy but going to a new fab. process and to a new chip design at the same time can be down right suicidal. This is already showing when these chip hit the market, in the first 20 days the chips were released over 30 flaws have surfaced, some minor but some pretty major. Toms hardware last week posted a flaw where if you plug in a USB 2.0 device into a laptop running a DUO processor it will cut the battery life by up to 80%. This could be a Microsoft issue or Intel.. neither is saying. The fact is that not only did Intel and Microsoft know about this months ago but they still released the product and told no one.

** geek talk finished **

Most of you know that I am an AMD fan… but with this how can you not be. AMD has consistently put out a faster processor that used less power and had fewer flaws. That is all.
