So this weekend….
So this weekend I ended up going to West Edmonton Mall for the weekend. Took in the sites, did the water slides, the roller coaster, and the many, many shops. Good times were had by all. Drove up there with Alisha and I decided to stop by Mt. Robson to take in the view of the biggest mountians in the rockies. It was raining and a bit cold but before we left Lish had one more ring on her finger than when we arrived. I proposed and she said yes. Details to follow. Maybe.

Simply Amazing.
So currently I can phone any phone in North America… for free. Yes you heard me correctly… for really and for true, 100% charge free. “Well Mr. Super Hacker how did you do it?”, you might ask. On top of it all it is perfectly legal as well, to good to be true you might say? Well look no further than the new Skype Beta version 2.5 (download it here) From what I have been reading on the site they are going to allow free calls from your computer to any land line or cell phone in North America until the end of the year. After that they get a little fuzzy on details but as far as I am concerned 8.5 months of long distance for free is alright with me. So if you have not heard from me in a while and want a call with out the needless worry about long distance charges look no further. That day has finally come. Enjoy!

Tape Man Strikes Back.
Well its that time of year again where all the little kids run to the hardware store in search of just the right roll of Duct Tape. Where no cardboard bin is safe from the eager teens and their crazy cardboard armor. Then there is that creepy 27 year old out-doing them all! Last weekend I let me geeky side shine though yet again and spent way to long building something that is really quite pointless. Its was fun none the less.
In case you didn’t catch my creation last year go here and check it out.
This year we spent a lot longer on it and made a much better suite of armor… with a slight Lord Of The Rings feel to it.
We decided on Elven armor cause it looked good and could still be done with the materials we had available.
I started off with the shield since it looked like it would be easiest to do.

Lish then decorated it with different colors of duct tape and this is what we ended up with.

Then we set about making the armor, it had a really cool lacing effect to it and it turned out pretty good. Here is the rough design…

Then I got bored with the armor and decided to make Gandalf’s staff out of white duct tape and cardboard… the cat wanted to help too. ![]()

Then it was the helm… was by far the hardest to do but turned out pretty good I think.

Then I added the top piece…

I also had to add a handle on the back of the shield so she could hold onto it…

When all was said and done the final product looked like this…

Here is a picture of all the youth that were there that night.

Here is one a set of twins did at the youth… kind of reminds me of Monty Python.

The armor from last year even made an appearance… apparently its a one size fits all.

Im lazy, what can I say.
I have actually been quite busy the past couple of weeks. But yes I have had time to put something on my blog. I just, well, haven’t. I don’t really know what is going on with the interview… just that it will hopefully be soon.
I had a rather eventful day at work last week. I was moving some servers out of the server rooms at the hospital that haven’t run in over a year. Some of them are rather heavy to say the least so I was tugging away at one, and what I didn’t see was an old tape drive at the top of the rack… about to fall. And fall it did, right onto my hand. If you don’t know, older tape drives are quite heavy and well built and it left a good mark on my hand. Luckily, I work at a hospital, and within one hour I had an x-ray done and several doctors looking at the films. (I guess it’s a point of interest when the computer geek gets injured
) All was well, no permanent damage.
