Going to Calgary
So I am going to Calgary to do a brain dump this week. Its a week long course and its going to be pretty intense so I wont be posting much this week… or at all. Hopefully the plumber will be coming early this week and then my Dad will be showing up to finish up some framing. Then if he has time maybe get some drywalling done… but I wont be getting my hopes up.
My parents are leaving on the 1st for a few months to the states to visit all their supporters so I wont have my Dads help for much longer. They should have a good time visiting with all their friends and people they haven’t seen in a long time. Good luck and have fun! 
Anyway I got a vanity to install, gutters to finish off and a couple of floors to seal… so I will be back next week sometime.

More Pictures!
So I just uploaded the pictures of the completed kitchen, and a few shots of me ripping out the old vanity in the bathroom. Tonight I am going to try and get the new vanity installed but I am not sure how I am going to do so since the thing is so heavy. Plus I have to cut a hole in the back for the plumbing… then mount it to the wall… oh its going to be a fun night.
I am going to be away next week taking a CCNA course and if all goes well I should be certified by the time I come back… or certifiable… one of the two.

Its DONE!
Well the upstairs is livable and all the flooring is done for the time being. Now all we have to do is put in a Vanity in the bathroom add a toilet and we will have a completed bathroom! Ok so I am jumping the gun a bit here, we are still waiting for the counter tops from Rona for the Vanities and that probably wont be until next week now… more delays.
Ken will be arriving this weekend, tonight to be specific and will be seeing his house for the first time since we tore it apart. It should be quite entertaining to see his reaction to it all.
After that Alishas parents will be back this weekend to help us out with some stuff. It should be a fun weekend, and hopefully a little less crazy.
Again sorry about the pictures, I have to remember : Batteries, Camera, Pictures. It will be done.

More tile…
So Alisha and I finished up with the tile upstairs, we did the patch in the entrance way and the bathroom. I have to say that having two people that are very maticulus doing tile tends to work pretty well. I would say that this last job was the best in the house so far. If I keep this up, I might actually enjoy doing tile work… well maybe not.
We will be grouting those sections tonight and after that we can get the toilet and vanity moved into the bathroom and the upstairs will be virtualy done… short of molding and trim… and transition pieces… yah all that little stuff. I would say the best part about it is that we dont have to wear shoes in the house anymore… unless we go downstairs that is.
My Aunt and Uncle stopped by on their bike ride from Portland to Kamloops. Four people on harleys pulling into our driveway, I am sure people in the neighbourhood were wondering what our connection to the Hells Angles is. We had a good time showing them around and then we went out for dinner at Boston Pizza. It was good to see them again.
I know I said that I was going to post some pictures of the finished kitchen… well we have been having issues finding charged batteries at the house. We have yet to find where the charger is located so all our rechargable batteries are kind of dead at the moment. So either we will have to do some digging to find the charger or we will have to get some more batteries, then we can take some more pictures. Ill let you know when I post them.

The weekend.
So we had quite the… well relaxed weekend. I was going to get the tiling done on the upstairs but the plumber showed up and we moved a bunch of furniture from Paula’s parents house. We got a couch, and 4 chairs, a lamp, a bed…. oh yah and a freezer from them. Lets just say we like those people, they are good people. Now once my media room is done we will have stuff to put in it.
The kitchen is totally complete minus the one small piece behind the stove that we will have to wait for… hopefully next week sometime. I will try and post some pictures of the finished product today. As for the rest of the house, after speaking with the plumber about some of the issues downstairs, well lets just say he has some work to do. However he is leaving for Nova Scotia on tuesday and wont be able to do the work until he comes back on the 19th. So now there is a hault on all further work until then since the next step is more drywall. C’est la vie.
