More House and some Rock Climbing.
So a couple of weekends ago Lish and I and some friends here went rock climbing in Kelowna. We haven’t been out much this year but it was good to get out door climbing again after being cooped up in the indoor gym all winter. Lish and I are no strangers to outdoor climbing but this time was something different all together. We got to the site in the afternoon so the rock face wouldn’t be as hot as it can be in mid day. However, what we weren’t counting on was the weather. We knew there was a chance of “light showers” that day but figured they would be minor dribbles and nothing to worry about. We had set a climb and most of us had had a run and it was Lish’s turn to go up, she got to the top and it started to sprinkle. Alisha didn’t have the equipment to take down the line so I would have to go back up after her to take everything down. As she was coming down it started to rain a bit harder. We quickly swapped placed and I began my quick climb up the rock face. Half way up the climb it started to absolutely pour. Everything was wet and slick, and was making my “quick trip” a little harder. Just when I was thinking it couldn’t get any worse… hail. I was 3/4 of the way up a 100FT climb and I was being hailed on after being soaked to the bone. I was trying to hang onto the rock while my body temp dropped. I got to the top and started taking down the anchoring equipment. I was about to begin my decent and it turns out the guy next to me couldnt quite remember how to setup an anchor… (refer to pictures) so I stayed up top and walked him through everything. All in all it was an interesting day.
